Q. Is Crest Mountain inside the Asheville City Limits?


A
.Crest Mountain recently was annexed into the Town of Woodfin.
Woodfin is providing police protection, sanitation services, and recycling for our community. We will continue to have an Asheville mailing address with our 28806 zip code. Additionally, we are part of the Asheville water system so water is provided from the pristine North Fork reservoir.

Q. What is the current property tax rate at Crest Mountain?


A.
Woodfin’s current tax rate is 26.5 cents per hundred valuation. This is much
lower than Asheville’s current tax rate of 52.5 cents per hundred valuation. The current tax rate for Buncombe county is 68 cents per hundred valuation.

Q. Is Crest Mountain gated?


A.Crest Mountain is a gated community with a gatehouse at the
main entrance and privacy gates at our other entrances. Residents are furnished with remote access controls for one of their vehicles. Guests are required to call residences from the
gatehouse for access.

Q. Is there golf, swimming, or tennis on site?

A.Crest Mountain is affiliated with The Country Club of Asheville offering memberships to the famous Donald Ross golf course design. Memberships categories are available for full or part time residents. Associate, (tennis) or house and swimming memberships are also available. Q. Is there a minimum square footage requirement for homes built at Crest Mountain?


A.
There is a minimum square footage requirement depending upon the area in which you live on Crest Mountain. Generally, a minimum of 2200 square feet is required. The developer reserves the right to adjust the size requirement in consideration of topography, etc.

Q. Are there protective covenants in place at Crest Mountain?


A.

Q. What about the architectural style of homes on Crest Mountain?


A.
Crest Mountain does have distinctive styles of homes pre approved within
its guidelines. They include Mountain Rustic, Cottage and Manor styles. The

Q. Does Crest Mountain restrict property owners to their “preferred builders”?


A
.No. However, Crest Mountain will gladly recommend builders at our owners’
request. Builders who are not already on our “recommended list” must
demonstrate a history of financial stability, environmental sensitivity,
safety, and customer satisfaction.

Q. What utilities are provided at Crest Mountain?


A.
All utilities are underground at Crest Mountain and include
electricity, telephone, cable, natural gas, city water, and public sewer.

Q. Where is Crest Mountain in relation to downtown Asheville and the surrounding area?


A. Crest Mountain is located 5 miles northwest of the heart of downtown. The downtown area includes all the cultural life Asheville has to offer, as well as, Mission hospitals. The Asheville Airport is 15 miles from Crest Mountain. Click here to view map.
